Welcome to the EAB Financial Forum

On behalf of HE and our Chairman Mr. Abdel Hamid Shoman, it gives me great pleasure as the Chief Executive Officer of Europe Arab Bank to welcome you all to our second EAB Financial Forum: ' Managing the crisis: The response of the MENA regulators ' - 15th October 2009.

There is no doubt that these are very challenging times. In the new debate on global financial reform, there is widespread interest in the reregulation of global financial markets and the future of the banking industry as a whole. The new conventional wisdom asserts that global financial markets will survive and flourish only if public authorities are actively involved in promoting this outcome through various regulatory activities.

Exclusively for Europe Arab Bank and Arab Bank clients, and select members of the media and partner organisations, EAB’s Financial Forums aim to provide participants with valuable insight, outlook, commentary and networking opportunities to further understand the current unprecedented market challenges. It will also enable attendees to meet EAB senior management and product specialists who will be pleased to discuss ways in which we can offer our support by delivering the benefits of our local presence across Europe and MENA, and our specialist knowledge and expertise.

We have put together an exciting and informative agenda for you. We welcome our confirmed panel speakers:
HE Dr Umayya Salah Toukan, Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan, who will open the event followed by HE Farhat Omer Bengdara, Governor of the Central Bank of Libya. Our guest moderator will be John Humphrys, Journalist and Broadcaster. Read more about our speakers and panelists here.

I look forward to meeting you at the EAB Financial Forum in October at what promises to be a most stimulating and enjoyable event.

Kindest regards,
Antoine Sreih
Chief Executive Officer
